The language of car seats is confusing. This guide provides some definitions and explanations surrounding car seats, vehicles and testing to help you make sense of what's what.
ADAC Test
'Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club' - A German company which crash tests and scores child car seats based on specific criterias.
Anti Rotational Device
A device intended to limit the movement of the child car seat during an impact. This consists of a top-tether strap or a support-leg.

ISOFix Base
Support Leg
an anti–rotation device permanently attached to a Child Restraint System creating a load path between the Child Restraint System and the vehicle structure. These are adjustable in length to make sure you have a secure fit on the vehicle seat and base of the floor.

Top Tether Anchorage
A specific metal bar designed to accept an ISOFix Top Tether Strap. Typically located on the back of a passenger seat, the roof of the boot or back of a parcel shelf. Do not confuse this with a luggage hook.
Top Tether Strap
The webbing strap which extends from the top of an ISOFix car seat and attaches to the Top Tether Anchorage.
